Welcome to the XS/FS Recruitment Server

At the XS/FS Lab we conduct a wide range of experiments on decision making. If you are a student at Florida State University, you can sign up to participate in future experiments and earn money for doing so.

To receive email announcements of upcoming experiments, please click Sing Up in the menu on the left. In order to register, you will need to provide your name and FSU e-mail address ending with @my.fsu.edu.

Once you register, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link. Make sure to click on that link to confirm your registration. Without confirmation, your registration will not be activated, and you will not be able to participate in experiments.

Upon registering and confirming your registration, you will receive emails announcing when experiments are coming up. These emails give details on the time of experimental sessions and a link allowing you to sign up for available sessions.

Experiments generally last 1-2 hours and are conducted at a variety of times during the week. You will earn a guaranteed $5-$10 if you sign up for a session and show up on time (the exact amount depends on the amount of time scheduled for the experiment), and additional earnings while participating in an experiment. The exact amount of money you earn will depend on the rules of the experiment, your decisions, and possibly decisions made by other participants.

Typically, subjects earn between $10-$12 per hour on average. Individual earnings in any given session may vary and, therefore, this amount is not guaranteed.

Participation in any of our experiments is purely voluntary, and we bear no ill will towards anyone who doesn’t volunteer. Your instructors won’t know whether you participate, any of your decisions in the experiments, and these experiments are in no way a test related to any class.
