COSSPP Alum and Co-founder of ‘Teach For Uganda’ to speak about educational reform

James Kassaga Arinaitwe, a Florida State University alumnus and CEO and co-founder of Teach For Uganda, will speak Thursday, Nov. 17, on the important role young leaders play in cultural reform and how to leverage leadership skills to create meaningful change.

COSSPP professor to give plenary talk at NIH Conference October 26

Associate Director of the Public Health Program and Assistant Professor of Sociology Patricia Homan, Ph.D., is slated to present at the NIH’s Gender and Health Conference later this month.

The conference will take place on Wednesday, October 26 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT. Dr. Homan is slated to speak at 11:55 a.m. EDT.

FSU Student Star: Emmabella Rudd

Florida State University senior Emmabella Rudd developed a passion for advocating for individuals with health inequities and their healthcare rights after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 5. Intent on continuing her activism, Rudd chose to attend FSU because of its dedication to public service and championing student leadership.
