Dawn Carr, an associate professor of sociology and the director of FSU’s Claude Pepper Center, and Miles Taylor, a professor of sociology and director of FSU’s Pepper Institute on Aging and Public Policy.

Two COSSPP faculty members received a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for more than $400,000 to study the health effects of psychological resiliency.

COSSPP professor to give plenary talk at NIH Conference October 26

Associate Director of the Public Health Program and Assistant Professor of Sociology Patricia Homan, Ph.D., is slated to present at the NIH’s Gender and Health Conference later this month.

The conference will take place on Wednesday, October 26 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT. Dr. Homan is slated to speak at 11:55 a.m. EDT.

Garnet & Gold Scholar Society Inducts 28 COSSPP Students

Florida State University welcomes 129 new inductees into its prestigious Garnet & Gold Scholar Society this spring. Of those inducted, 28 students had at least one major in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.

FSU sociology professor named director of FSU’s Claude Pepper Center
