XS/FS Hosts National Conference

XS/FS, the Experimental Social Science Cluster at Florida State University, hosted the 2014 Economic Science Association (ESA) conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL, October 16-18, 2014.

ESA is a professional organization devoted to economics as an observational science, using controlled experiments to learn about economic behavior. The conference featured 220 papers presented by economists from across the U.S. engaged in the experimental field.

The XS/FS Research Group at Florida State is centered in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy a consists of a diverse group of scholars from the economics and political science departments and the accounting faculty of the School of Business who use controlled laboratory and field experiments to study key questions in the social sciences, from foundational and methodological issues to applied research. Topics typically range from how one might design charity silent auctions to preferences for voting on tax policies to information transmission through social networks.
