Political Science Professor Awarded for His Career Accomplishments

Political Science Professor Robert Crew has been named the 2016 recipient of the Diane Blair Award from the Southern Political Science Association (SPSA). The award is presented biennially to a political scientist who has played an outstanding role in politics and/or government during their career at the local, state, national or international level.

Dr. Crew is also the associate dean of the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy, director of the Master’s in Applied American Politics and Policy program, and director of the Interdisciplinary Social Science program. He has been with the Florida State University Department of Political Science since 1989.

The award carries a $1,000 prize and will be presented at the SPSA conference in Puerto Rico on January 8, 2016.

The award is named for the late Diane Blair, a professor at University of Arkansas from 1968 to 1997, chair of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and a senior adviser, researcher, and chronicler of the 1992 Clinton-Gore presidential campaign.
