College Alums Honored as “30 Under 30”

Eight relatively recent graduates of the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy were named by the Florida State University Alumni Association with this year’s Thirty Under 30 Award. The organization created the award in 2012 to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of FSU’s young alumni. Each recipient shows exceptional achievement and significant contributions to his or her profession, community/society or the university. The recipient must exemplify outstanding professional and personal development either through traditional channels or innovative approaches.

The college alumni named in this year’s group of 30 are:

Pradiip Alvarez (International Affairs M.S. ’14) – World Humanitarian Summit Project Assistant, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Panama City, Panama

Lauren Cameron (Asian Studies B.A. ’11) – VVIP and Corp Foreign Trainer, Wall Street English, Tianjin, China

Nydia Counts (Political Science B.S. ’08) – Senior Managing Director, Teacher Leadership Development, Teach for America, Houston, Texas

Matthew Earl Hauer III (Sociology B.S. ’07, Demography M.S. ’08) – Applied Demographer, Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Athens, Ga.

Sarah Mandell (Sociology/Political Science B.S. ’08) – Director of Research and Programming, American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, Washington, D.C.

Amber McIntyre (Political Science B.S. ’09) – Foreign Affairs Officer, U.S Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, Washington, D.C.

Michael Molczyk (Geography B.S. ’08) – Chief of Operation, Task Force Lethal, U.S. Army, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mark Neifeld (Sociology/Public Relations B.S. ’09) – Events Manager, Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium; General Manager, Ingress Events, Arlington, Texas
