6 Grads Honored by Scholar Society
Florida State University welcomed 20 new members into its Garnet and Gold Scholar Society this summer, of which six are students with majors in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.
Established in 2010, the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society facilitates involvement and recognizes undergraduate students who excel within and beyond the classroom in at least three of five areas: international experience, internship, leadership, research and service.
In order to be inducted as a member of the society, the students must meet the engagement criteria and submit a synthesis reflection project in their final semester before graduation.
The students, all graduating seniors who participated in summer commencement Aug. 6, were inducted into the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society during a special ceremony on Aug. 4.
The inductees from the college are: Naseef Azan (economics and political science), Alexandra Peterson (sociology and German), Kylie Kraydich (communication science and disorders and international affairs), Karina Vasquez (political science and psychology), Natalie Gazzaneo (international affairs and criminology), and Andrea Pimentel (international affairs).
