Career Center Partners with Alum to Offer Externship to ISS Student

For the third consecutive year, the Florida State University Career Center has partnered with distinguished alumna Woodie Woodward, former associate administrator of airports for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to provide an externship experience to one current FSU student.

Nicolas Rice, a fourth year undergraduate student from Washington D.C., was selected by Woodward as her newest extern through the Aviation Management Externship Program.

PoliSci Student Selected for Harvard Presentation

Political science undergraduate McCayla Sica was accepted to present her research at the 2017 National Collegiate Research Conference at Harvard in January. This is a very prestigious honor, as the application process is extremely competitive.

Policy Pub Returns Spring Semester with New Topics

The inaugural series of Policy Pub gatherings in fall 2016 brought packed houses to Backwoods Bistro for insightful presentations, engaging dialogue, and a relaxed, informal atmosphere to hear about and discuss public policy issues that affect everyone day to day. The first three sessions in fall focused on the 2016 election, but the next three will cover a wide range of fascinating topics.

Economics Department Ranked High Among Applied Programs

The Department of Economics within the college is fast rising in the rankings of the best graduate schools in the country.

In an October 2016 survey of 157 top economics schools, TFE Times (formerly The Financial Engineer) ranked FSU's program #29 overall in the nation, up from #33 last year. The numbers are even more impressive when broken down further.

TMHC’s O’Bryant Named Health Policy Person of Year

G. Mark O’Bryant, president and chief executive officer of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMHC), has been named Public Health Policy Person of the Year by Florida State University’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program.

The program presents the award annually in recognition of the career contributions of a leader in the health policy field in Florida.
