Career Day

The Master’s in Applied Economics program hosts a Career Day each fall and spring as part of the Professional Development Course. Career Day consists of a networking lunch, mock interviews, a panel discussion, and a reception.

A networking lunch gives students the opportunity to meet and visit with professionals.

This fall, mock interviews were conducted by eight visiting firms. Each master’s student was able to interview with two firms. In the fall of 2021, representatives from Bates White Economic Consulting, Charles River Associates, The Energy Authority, Integrated Musculoskeletal Care, Mather Economics, Softcrylic, and Revenue Management Solutions attended to meet and speak with our applied master’s students.

Often, mock interviews result in internships and / or job offers.

Undergraduates and master’s students attend the panel discussion. Professionals introduce their firms and talk about a typical day on the job.

Alumni of the program discuss how they utilize the skills gained in the master’s program.

After the panel discussion, additional alumni, program faculty, and students are invited to a reception.

The reception allows master’s students to speak with faculty, alumni, and professionals.
