Annual Careers in Politics Networking Night welcomed students, panelists, and roundtable speakers

The Florida State University College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP), Institute of Politics (IOP), Masters of Applied American Politics and Policy (MAAPP) program, and the Career Center welcomed panelists and roundtable speakers for their annual Careers in Politics Networking Night.

Research Spotlight: Political Expression on College Campuses

Eli McKown-Dawson – Research Assistant in the DeVoe L. Moore Center (DMC) and FSU student double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Statistics – recently authored a policy brief on campus political climate studying surveys deployed by Heterodox Academy on several campuses. 

DURP receives APA award for work on the Providence Neighborhood Plan Refresh 

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning Barnebey Lab Team received an Award of Merit in the Grassroots Initiative category from the American Planning Association’s Florida Chapter for their work on the Providence Neighborhood Plan Refresh. 

COSSPP professor to give plenary talk at NIH Conference October 26

Associate Director of the Public Health Program and Assistant Professor of Sociology Patricia Homan, Ph.D., is slated to present at the NIH’s Gender and Health Conference later this month.

The conference will take place on Wednesday, October 26 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT. Dr. Homan is slated to speak at 11:55 a.m. EDT.
