The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy has announced the promotions of seven specialized faculty members for the 2022-2023 cycle.
In total, the promotions added five new Specialized Teaching Faculty II and two new Specialized Teaching Faculty III.

Promoted to Specialized Teaching Faculty II
Portia Campos, Ph.D. – Askew School
Dr. Campos earned her Ph.D. in Public Administration from Rutgers University. She began teaching classes in the Askew School of Public Administration in 2013 and was promoted to Teaching Faculty I in 2018.
Linda Jimenez-Lopez, CPM – Florida Center for Public Management
Linda Jimenez-Lopez earned her Master’s in Adult and Continuing Education from the University of South Florida. She graduated from FSU’s CPM program in 2014 and became a full-time faculty instructor with the FCPM in 2018 before being promoted to Director in 2021.
Amid Ardakani, Ph.D. – Economics
Dr. Ardakani earned his Ph.D. in Economics while working as a Teaching Assistant for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He then joined FSU as a faculty member in 2018.
Teresa Roach, Ph.D. – Sociology
Dr. Roach earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from Florida State University. She has worked as Teaching Faculty I in the Department of Sociology since 2018 and was promoted to Director of Undergraduate Studies in 2020.
Alexandra Cockerham, Ph.D. – Interdisciplinary Social Sciences
Dr. Cockerham has worked as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Interdisciplinary Social Science Program and earned COSSPP’s Outstanding Teaching Award in 2022.
Promoted to Specialized Teaching Faculty III
Carrie Lee, Ph.D. – Economics
Dr. Lee earned her Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University. She has worked in the Department of Economics since 2018.
Sam Staley, Ph.D. – DeVoe L. Moore Center
Dr. Staley earned his Ph.D. in Public Administration from Ohio State University. He served as the DMC’s Managing Director from 2011 until he was promoted to Director in 2014.
